- TDMAid: The Delphi Magazine Article Index Database
- ==================================================
-
- This directory contains updated versions of the data and program files for
- TDMAid:
-
- AID_16.ZIP 16-bit version of TDMAid program
- AID_32.ZIP 32-bit version of TDMAid program
- TDMAID_D.ZIP Updated data files
-
- The programs are version 1.20, which is the same version shipped on our
- Collection '96 CD-ROM, so if you have the CD-ROM you do not need to install
- the program files.
-
- If you have a version of the TDMAid program earlier than 1.20, you _must_
- install the new version to use the updated data files.
-
- The data files include information on all issues up to and including
- March 1997 (Issue 19). These data files require Version 1.20 (or later) of
- the TDMAid program.
-
- The TDMAid program requires the Borland Database Engine, which is installed by
- default when you install Delphi.
-
-
- Installation
- ============
-
- 1. If you have the Collection '96 CD-ROM:
-
- o Copy the updated data files ZIP file to the directory where TDMAid is
- installed (usually c:\tdmcoll\tdmaid).
-
- o Unzip the file (use the XALL.EXE command line utility in the root
- directory of this month's companion disk).
-
- The new data files will overwrite the existing ones.
-
-
- 2. If you are using Windows 3.1x:
-
- o Copy the ZIP file for the 16-bit version of the TDMAid program and the
- updated data files ZIP file into a directory on your hard disk.
-
- o Unzip both files (use the XALL.EXE command line utility in the root
- directory of this month's companion disk).
-
- o Add a new Item for the TDMAID.EXE program into the Program Manager
- Group of your choice.
-
-
- 3. If you are using Windows 95 or Windows NT and Delphi 1.0x:
-
- o You probably only have the 16-bit version of the Borland Database
- Engine (BDE).
-
- o Copy the ZIP file for the 16-bit version of the TDMAid program and the
- updated data files ZIP file into a directory on your hard disk. If you
- know you have the 32-bit BDE installed, you can use the 32-bit version
- of TDMAid.
-
- o Unzip both files (use the XALL.EXE command line utility in the root
- directory of this month's companion disk).
-
- o Add a new Item for the TDMAID.EXE program into your Windows environment.
-
-
- 4. If you are using Windows 95 or Windows NT and Delphi 2.0x:
-
- o You should have the 32-bit version of the Borland Database Engine (BDE).
-
- o Copy the ZIP file for the 32-bit version of the TDMAid program and the
- updated data files ZIP file into a directory on your hard disk. If you
- know you have the 16-bit BDE installed, use the 16-bit TDMAid.
-
- o Unzip both files (use the XALL.EXE command line utility in the root
- directory of this month's companion disk).
-
- o Add a new Item for the TDMAID.EXE program into your Windows environment.
-
- Once the program and data are installed, check the Help system for information
- on new features and other configuration options. Have fun!
